Natural hair removal? Burmese beauty secret!

Waxing and threading facial hair can be really painful for most, especially girls like me. Even after years of threading I still dread the monthly facial threading session and have always wished for some pain-free hair removal technique.

There are hair remover creams out there but they’re often loaded with chemicals and I would never use such products on my face. That’s when Argo Naturals sent me their Thanaka Powder and Kusuma Oil to try out!

Thanaka powder is made from ground barks of Thanaka tree and has been the beauty secret of Burmese ladies from many centuries. They apply it in various designs on their face and some say it also protects their skin from the harsh summer sun.

Thanka powder is also a great natural hair remover. I used it along with Kusuma oil which is also known for it’s hair removing properties. The combination has also been used from many centuries in Ayurvedic massages.

I used Thanaka powder mixed with water as a face mask followed by Kusuma oil every night before sleep. I used this for about three weeks and though slow I could see a noticeable reduction in my upper lip hair. How exciting is it to have a natural hair remover with no side effects! You only need some patience as the effect is not immediate.

Kusuma oil broke me out a bit but left my skin luminous (I mean it!) and is not one bit oily on the skin. I also love using Kusuma oil with my foundation as it completely changes the way my foundation looks. It adds a very beautiful glow to my everyday makeup and I absolutely love it!

Thanaka Powder and Kusuma Oil are available here if you would like to try it as well 🙂
